"We Meet at Last"
(by Layo & Bushwacka!)
Oh, Jana, you'll be pleased to know that this is another one of those Excedrin caffeine-induced posts that you love! {I hope this doesn't disappoint!} Here's a little bit of useless information for you: Excedrin Migraine & Excedrin Menstrual Complete have the same exact blend of active ingredients. And here's another little random tidbit: the migraine one lists caffeine's purpose as "pain reliever aid" & the menstrual one lists it as a diuretic. Interesting, huh? I heard that Excedrin Extra Strength is also the exact same as the two that I just mentioned, so I decided to save you the trouble & look it up. Guess what?! It's true! For the record: the Back & Body product doesn't appear to have caffeine, and the aspirin is "buffered" (so I guess that's different). & the Tension Headache one doesn't have aspirin (just twice the acetaminophen) but is formulated with caffeine. I could look up some others, but I'm sure that if you really cared you would look it up for yourself! Moving right along...
I was totally planning on telling y'all about what Laura & I did to take advantage of the heat last week. But I went & blurted something out yesterday that I just had to share! So you get a random MISspeak post in my
This is another one of those times when I said something possibly inappropriate-sounding to somebody else's husband. Yep, 'cuz that's how I roll...
At Meet the Teacher yesterday, I ended up in the t-shirt line with a lady that I thought I recognized from church. After making our introductions and realizing that we do go to church together, I asked her last name. She told me, & I excitedly said, "Is your husband here?!"
She looked at me (a little oddly) & said that he was. To which I replied (quite loudly, Cody told me later), "I HAVE to meet him!!!!!"
She sent her son to get him, while continuing to look at me a little oddly. I then realized that it probably seemed weird, so I explained (of course) that I've been trying to meet him for awhile now. {I'm sure that eased her mind!} I've seriously been asking everyone I know (OK, well maybe not everyone) to introduce me to him. If his name comes up in conversation (which it has several times), I'm like, "If you see him & me in the same room, please introduce us!"
Yeah. So if you know me at all, then you can imagine me rambling all of this stuff to this lady who's staring at me like, "What do you want with my husband?!" At some point in there, I finally thought to explain that he knows my baby brother. {I think that made her feel a little better!} By the time Bryan arrived on the scene, she realized that I had no improper motives for meeting her husband. She told him that he knew my brother, and when he found out who I was he said that we were supposed to have met already & that he was sorry he wasn't able to meet me then. At first I didn't know what he was talking about, but then I remembered...
At VBS, one of Elly's friends came up to me asking if I knew who he was (because she was supposed to be on his team). I responded with something along the lines of, "No, but I need to meet him! Let's go find him!" So we went off in search of anyone who knew Bryan. I found a man who knows him & explained why I was wanting to meet him. He said, "Oh, he's wanting to meet you, too!" He called Bryan's cell phone right then & there, but he was terribly sick & unable to make it. {Little did I know I wasn't going to meet him at church, because Cody's school makes much more sense in my world!}
Anyways, Bryan ministers at the prison where my brother is incarcerated (in case you don't remember that, you can read about it in another random post from a few months ago). Aaron talks about him to me a lot, and he talks about me to Bryan. He's been wanting us to meet since he started class, but we've never managed to be at the same place at the same time with anyone who knew that we wanted to meet! So, we've passed by each other at church about a thousand times, never knowing who each other was! Randomly, we ended up meeting at our sons' school, and it turns out that we live in the same neighborhood, too! Welcome to my life...
Soooooo, am I the only one who does this type of thing? Please tell me that you've said something that needed a little explanation!!
