"Moon River"

(cover by Drew Holcomb)

I'm sorry to disappoint y'all by not posting over the weekend. I was a little bit busy, but I'll get to that later! :) First, I have to tell you random things...

Before I forget, though, we have lost round one of the stupid Pre-Authorization Game. Your continued prayers would be greatly appreciated!

I completely forgot to tell y'all about Laurien coming over last week for Turkey Hill Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup ice cream. It's absolutely delicious, and I had been telling her about it for a couple of weeks. She's as big of a chocolate and peanut butter fan as I am, so we share chocolate/peanut butter discoveries with each other. She told me about Peanut Butter Cup Oreos and suggested that we combine the ice cream with the Oreos and make a shake... was so good that I drank the remnants straight from the blender!

I had never heard of Turkey Hill ice cream before, but you should try it if you ever come across it!

Clyde had a birthday this week, and his wife Nicole had called me to arrange surprise cupcakes at staff meeting. Instead of her picking some up at the store, I offered to bake some. I couldn't decide what I wanted to make, so I made a few different kinds (chocolate with vanilla frosting, chocolate with chocolate ganache, and Italian cream)...

We got Pepper a ThunderShirt because she's afraid of everything. It hasn't seemed to work much, but she looks cute in it. Doesn't she?

Cody & I cleaned out the garage yesterday, and we came across a shirt that seemed big enough for both of us. So, of course, we had to try it! :)

And finally, the most exciting part of my week...I got to see my beautiful cousin Kendra & meet her baby!!

Auntie Amy is absolutely in love with Judah ♥

I mean, seriously. Just look at him!

I held him for every possible minute of my way-too-short visit. I enjoyed catching up with Kendra & Jason, and I played with this cutie a little bit (though not as much as she would've liked):

And one last picture of adorable Judah in his Sunday outfit (I got a preview on Saturday):

I hope y'all have a super great week!! ♥

"All About Us"

(by He is We, feat. Owl City)

I've had a super great week! If you see my pics on social networks, there won't be much in this post that you don't already know. I forgot to tell y'all that I decided to do the 100 Happy Days challenge, so I've been posting pics on Instagram every day since June 1st. Challenges are one way to get me to take more pictures, but I should be using my real camera instead of my phone. Phone pics are better than nothing, though, right?! Ü

Before I forget...the Preauthorization Game has begun. I would thoroughly appreciate your prayers for insurance to approve the correct scans and for me to trust God and be anxious for nothing. Thank you! ♥

Alright, on to the happy things...

One thing I haven't posted on IG yet is a picture of new curtains that make my kitchen much brighter!

I also got a new office chair that is more comfy than my old one & provides more support for my aching back! :)

My sweet kids put it together for me while I was finishing up some work one day this week. And because Cody can't help himself, he had to see if he could fit inside the box...

None of the boys that I work with had been to Tornado Burger until this week. A couple of them went there after I told them about it, and they brought back some lunch for me!

{I don't know if I've told y'all that I'm a little bit spoiled, but you've probably figured it out by now!}

Cody went to his friend's one day, so Elly & I decided to have a girl day. We picked Kiya up and took her to a candy shop...

...and we watched What a Girl Wants that night, which (quite appropriately for the day) has one of my favorite movie lines in it. I've mentioned it before, but I'll tell you it again:

Dude, it's chocolate. Need I say more?

We got to be a part of a surprise party for Desiree's 50th birthday last night!!

There was good BBQ, good music, good conversations & a photo booth! :) The kids & I posed with our "adopted" kid Chris!

Today there was a little volleyball tournament at the Warehouse. I'm not coordinated enough to play, but I am quite capable of watching, cheering, and loving on babies while their parents play! :) I got to hang out with Brett & Jessica's little cutie...

...and precious Evie Kate, who belongs to Clyde & Nicole! :)

{Clyde brings her to work sometimes, but she's almost always sleeping. I keep telling him that I think she needs to be awake sometime so I can hang out with her! I mean, seriously, she's adorable! And I think she likes to hang out with me, too!} ;)

That's almost all the excitement of my week. A bunch of the students & volunteers met up for dinner & a movie one night, but I didn't manage to get any pictures of that. I watched the movie with a new girl who I look forward to getting to know better, and I ate with Madison {who calls me "Just Amy" to avoid the polite-but-not-necessary habit of calling me "Miss Amy" ~> I tell her that I'll punch her in the face is she says "Miss", so sometimes she ends up calling me "Mamy"! Marcie (or anyone, for that matter), in case you're concerned, I really wouldn't ever punch her in the face!}

I hope y'all are having a super great weekend! ♥

"What's Your Favorite Color?"

(by Living Colour)

What's Your Favorite Color? (Theme Song) by Living Colour on Grooveshark

Y'all may have seen a few pictures from our first Bowl Games of the summer...

As in years past, the students were divided up into four different colored teams. Some of us are always on the same team, like Caleb and me. Even though our red team has rarely won, we are loyal to our color! This year, though, Daniel (the man of the house where we had the crawfish boil) was my co-leader! He tatted up my knuckles for me... ;)

We've had Bowl Games with water and yucky stuff, but this was our first one with colored corn starch!

We played a little game of Battleship on the volleyball court...

There was also a modified version of Rock Paper Scissors, where the winners got to throw color on the losers...

Another game was Omniball, which was sorta like Ultimate Frisbee...

And then there was a game that's hard to describe...

{it involved kid pools that were used as shields}

The following couple of pics were taken about half-way through the night...

{This is when Daniel said that I looked like I had been snorting Smurf!} :P

The final round took place in the bowl (aka retention pond), and the goal was to use up all of our team's color on the other teams. I ended up with color all over me...

...but my team managed to win the whole thing!

Seriously, y'all...Red Team won! That has only happened one other time in Bowl Games history (over the last few summers), so we were pretty excited!!

Julie & Nicole had the brilliant idea to cover themselves with trash bags to keep their vehicle clean...

I should've done the same, because this is what my seat looked like after driving home:

It was a super fun night! Have you had fun with color lately??

This has been a good first week of summer! My work schedule is a bit modified for summer, so I have a full day plus a couple of afternoons at home with my babies! They have a study & help out with the children's ministry on a couple of the mornings when I work, so they only have a couple of days to possibly be bored at home! :) Elly has summer reading & driver's ed to occupy some of that time. She has also been working on her guitar skills. As for Cody...I don't know if I mentioned that Kristi's husband Ryan is a cross country & track coach. And lucky for us, he wants to train Cody this summer!

As for my week...

Elly was at a friend's house one day, so Cody & I had our traditional recycling and Tornado Burger date!
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but we like to take our cans to a recycling center and use the money we get for lunch at a local burger point! :) Since Elly wasn't with us, we also went for snow cones, too! {ftr...We weren't being meanies ~> she doesn't like them!}

We celebrated Isaac's 4th birthday yesterday!!
{How is he four already?!}

Christopher preached today! Had I been thinking, I would've taken a picture. I also failed to get a picture of me with my Dad. :/ He, Aaron, and Aaron's friend Mac met us at church, and we all went out to lunch afterward for Father's Day! :) I tried to get a good picture of Chris with the kids, but Cody & his silly posing made it quite difficult. This is the best I could get...

We have a few Bowl Games (sorta like this) planned at the Warehouse this summer, the first of which was so exciting that I decided to devote an entire blog post to it! Stay tuned! :)

I know that I've posted today's song recently, but it's my favorite off their new album. And they release the official video yesterday!! If you didn't watch it, you totally should. Right now. I would pick a favorite part, but basically the whole song is my favorite. If I had to pick a line, it'd be the one in bold...

Your love is like radiant diamonds
Bursting inside us
We cannot contain
Your love will surely come find us
Like blazing wildfires singing Your name

God of mercy
Sweet love of mine
I have surrendered to Your design
May this offering stretch across the sky
These hallelujahs be multiplied

I hope y'all have a super great week! ♥
