I bought a cute new scarf the other day, but I promise this post is about WAY more than just a scarf! It's about fashionABLE scarves that provide jobs for women who have been exploited due to the effects of poverty.
I thought I had it rough growing up on food stamps, but these women are selling their bodies to survive.
I don't know if you remember the post when I talked about joining Mocha Club, but I've been involved with this organization going on two years now. I originally joined because of Addison Road's efforts. Since then, several of my favorite artists have gotten involved. Mocha Club is currently offering the scarves for $15 (plus shipping) to friends & family of Mocha Club members. I'm not sure when, but the price is going up to $22 once the "friends & family" deal is over! If you can spare some extra bucks, head over there & buy one today!
