"Summer Scarves"

(by Butch Walker) Summer

I bought a cute new scarf the other day, but I promise this post is about WAY more than just a scarf! It's about fashionABLE scarves that provide jobs for women who have been exploited due to the effects of poverty.

I thought I had it rough growing up on food stamps, but these women are selling their bodies to survive.

I don't know if you remember the post when I talked about joining Mocha Club, but I've been involved with this organization going on two years now. I originally joined because of Addison Road's efforts. Since then, several of my favorite artists have gotten involved. You can check out the projects that they are involved in by clicking on the following names: Amy Stroup, Hawk Nelson, Sanctus Real, & many others...

Mocha Club is currently offering the scarves for $15 (plus shipping) to friends & family of Mocha Club members. I'm not sure when, but the price is going up to $22 once the "friends & family" deal is over! If you can spare some extra bucks, head over there & buy one today! I don't profit from this deal, so please don't think I get a kick back or anything! I just love it when I can buy something cute that benefits someone who is less fortunate than I am.

Oh, I love that I am going to go check it out too. That girl is very pretty, she reminds me of Angelina Jolie, but only in the clips where she is dancing with African children :)

I am sick of the rain! We have been getting hammered every day. Just about the time I either leave for lunch or go home for the day. On a positive note, my yard is such a pretty shade of green instead of the burnt brown. Hope you have a great holiday weekend!
