"Something Beautiful"

This week ended up being quite rainy & gloomy here on the "dirty side" of Hurricane Alex. The positive side of that is the fact that I'll be able to work some in the upcoming weeks. But I sure feel bad that I make a little extra money due to storm damage to other people's homes. Unfortunately for them, that is just a part of life. And, I'm helping them by being a point of contact & giving them information about their adjuster, etc. Anyways, back to this week...other than go to the pool on our one somewhat nice afternoon, we've just been hoping that we won't have to take a boat to get out of the neighborhood when this is all said and done!

One super fun thing we did was visit our friends Dan & Amanda (that I talked about not too long ago) & their new baby Isaac! Since we traditionally go out for empanadas with them, we decided to pick some up & take them with us to their house! When I told the empanada guy what we were doing, he gave me a little box of pastries for us to take to them. How sweet! While I enjoyed visiting with our friends, I'd have to say that my favorite part of the evening was holding baby Isaac for hours! & I think he likes me, too! ü

I love today's song, because it's NTB & I love all of their stuff! Plus, it reminds me of "Rescue" by Seabird (probably because the brothers from NEEDTOBREATHE co-wrote that song!) This whole song is super great. I think it's about wanting to let go of the things of the world & just give in to God and feel/become something more than this world has to offer. I sometimes feel like this:

In Your ocean, I'm ankle deep
I feel the waves crashin' on my feet
It's like I know where I need to be
But I can't figure out, yeah I can't figure out
Just how much air I will need to breathe
When Your tide rushes over me

I love getting baby love. My babies are 5 and 10. Glad you got to hold that sweet one. Talking about the dirty side of Hurricane Alex. OMG!!! I drove in some nasty weather in Houston, Friday afternoon. And then we had a complete down pour in Dallas. We were on the field and the bottom fell out. It looked as if all of jumped in the pool we were so soaked!! So ready for a week full of baseball!!
