"Treacherous (Acoustic) LIVE"
(by Taylor Swift)
I realized a couple of weeks ago that I had teased y'all with a closeup of something for the kids' bathroom months ago but never posted any of the completed decor! Then I remembered that I hadn't taken pics because there was one more thing that still needed to be hung up. So I took care of that & took some pictures for y'all! :) Then I couldn't find a song to go with it, so I never posted it last week. I'm sorry! Today's song may seem random, but it's Kristin's song (one of my India teammates). I know it's a weird song for me to post about another girl, but we were singing it when the slopes were treacherous on the mountain. So I'm going with it...
First let me state that I am not someone who redecorates a perfectly fine room! Don't let the "before" picture fool you...it was taken shortly after we moved in. Over the past five years, the bottom of the rug became a mess, and the shower curtain had mildewed a bit. {Plus, I paid $5 for the curtain. At $1/year, I think I got my money's worth!} Also, two out of four picture frames had broken. So it was time for some refreshing!
Here's the BEFORE:
And here's the AFTER:
It's India-themed, and I spent very little money on it! :) I had coupons for the items that I bought at World Market, and most of the other items came from Ross. Everything except for the rug was actually made in India, so it's almost 100% legit! ;) Here are a few of my favorite little details...
I've had this lantern longer than any of the other items, but it was the last thing that was put in there. I couldn't figure out exactly where I wanted it, and I thought it was going to be a bigger deal to hang than it actually was. Go figure...once I had the right hook, the job was completed in five minutes!
I framed pictures of a few buildings in India...
...and found a few Indian accessories. The elephant is temporary, though. I bought that for a friend's mom while I was in India (she collects elephants), but I haven't had a chance to see her yet. Until I see her, it will reside in our bathroom! :)
Here's a closeup of the drawer pulls that I found at World Market:
And my favorite thing: this framed picture of some of the orphans washing at the well!
That about does it. I'm sorry it took so long for me to tell y'all about it! And I promise...the last of the India trip posts will be coming soon!!
