"New Mexico"
(by Andrew Osenga)
Last week we were able to cross something off my list! Every summer when I was a kid, we took a trip to New Mexico to see my dad's family. We would also go to White Sands & Carlsbad Caverns, and it was always so much fun! For years, Christopher & I have been talking about taking the kids, and we were finally able to do it! It worked out perfectly to go to my cousin Kirby's wedding in Big Spring on our way to my aunt's house in New Mexico.
That Monday, we went to White Sands!
It was terribly hot, but Cody thoroughly enjoyed digging in all the sand...
& Elizabeth enjoyed burying him in it!
My dad came with us, too!
Then on Tuesday, we went to Carlsbad Caverns:
We started out by taking the Natural Entrance Self-Guided Tour:
Fortunately, the bats were all asleep in The Bat Cave!
After lunch, we toured Kings Palace with Tammy the Tour Guide:
Pictures from my camera could never do any of it justice...
Every shot that had people in it turned out terrible, so I'll close with one final [people-less] photo:
We hit up two National Parks in two days, and I'm hoping two kids now have memories that will last a lifetime! :)
