"Just Getting Started"

(by Hawk Nelson)

I've had a super busy but super great week! It started with church and small group with some of my favorite girls on Sunday. Then on Monday, my favorite boy in all the world gave me flowers when I picked him up from track practice!

I know they're just weeds, but I love the fact that he's 14 and picked flowers for me! ♥ He didn't want me to embarrass him on social media, though, so I'm only posting the picture here. ü

On Tuesday night, I got to be a bodyguard for the first time. I'm sure it's surprising to you that it has taken so long for me to have that opportunity, because you'd think I'd be everyone's first pick, but...Anyways, Laurien was meeting up with a Craigslist seller, so I tagged along for protection. Plus she bought me coffee while we waited. It was totally worth the risk! ;)

My friend Kim got Pentatonix tickets for her birthday, and she took Sally & me to the concert on Wednesday night! Since this blog is supposedly all about music, I figure I should write a separate post about that, though, so I'll tell you more about it later! :)

Thursday night was Cody's district track meet!

It was super duper windy, so Cody wasn't able to break a 5-minute mile. In fact, nobody we know PR'd at this meet, but I'll tell you how it all turned out later. First, the random stuff...Amy wasn't feeling well, so she wasn't able to attend the meet. Ammi & I sent her this selfie to let her know that we missed her:

Then another Amy came along, so we asked her to take a selfie with us! Amy wasn't very amused at the thought of being replaced! ;)

Aaron & Kloe' came for the first part of the meet! Five of our youth were there, but we failed to get a picture of all of them together. Cody managed to get this one of the boys, though:

Overall, it was a really great night! Cody came in 2nd in the 2400, he won the mile, and his team ended up winning the meet!! He and two of his teammates (pictured below) came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the mile!

Yay for winning district!! :)

Friday was a super great day...I got to spend time with two really great ladies! First, I went to Nichole's for coffee, then we went to Costco together. Her kids were adorable! They wanted her to go somewhere so I could stay there and babysit! :) After spending the morning with Nichole, I got to spend the afternoon with Elaine! I picked her up so we could do some shopping for a baby shower, then we visited for awhile at her house afterward. Elaine is someone I'd love to spend more time with. When she became a Mentor Mom for MOPS, all of the other Mentor Moms wanted to sit at her table! ü She's just great! After a nice day with sweet ladies, I also got to spend the evening with our pastors & elders and their wives at a dinner for a man who is a candidate for the Spiritual Formation Pastor at our church. I'm skipping ahead for a second, but my family also ate lunch with him, his wife, and another elder today. I'll keep y'all posted on how things develop...

And finally, Saturday was yet another super great day! I celebrated the expected arrival of two new babies! :) First, I attended a shower for Jacey, a girl who used to be in the youth group. Then, I helped host a shower for Kennan, whose husband is our Media Minister. She was also one of my Growth Group girls! How cute are these circus decorations?!

As for today's song...I should've mentioned this last week, but I completely forgot...Hawk Nelson has a new album, and you should totally check it out! If I had more free time, I'd be better at keeping y'all informed about music that I think you need to hear. The way things are going these days, I think I need y'all to tell me about music! If you know of any new artists that you think I'd like, please let me know!

I hope y'all have a wonderful week! ♥

Let's see if I can remember all of my thoughts as I was reading ;)
Yay Cody. Adorable Circus decorations, and funny about the Amy's. I don't know how comfortable I am with you being body guard for Craigslist, but I am assuming you had your phone out ready to call 911 or that you were in a well lit public area. I have bought and sold tons of stuff on Craig's list, including my car. I always say Craig's List doesn't kill people, people kill people, but with all the stuff in the news I do look back and think there were some transactions I made that were not safe. They turned out FINE, but I invited people over to my house (women that I had talked to on the phone), but still Jeremy wasn't there, and what if it had been a scam! I don't want to live in fear, but my future sales or purchases will certainly be a little more thought out. Whew, that was a long rant! Glad you all were safe ;)

Ha, I just remembered one other thing. Zion is already at an age where he doesn't want me to post certain thinks on social media so I totally understand. Like the time he gave me a rose for mother son date night. I am glad you shared it on here though.
