"Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans"
(by Harry Connick, Jr.)
{NOLA Day 4}
We decided to spend our last morning at the New Orleans City Park! It is massive! We scoped it out by driving through it for over an hour on three separate occasions, and we still didn't see it all. We wanted to see as much as possible by car so we could make the most of our time that morning.
We walked through the sculpture garden near the art museum...
...took in some scenery...
...played at a couple of the many playgrounds...
...made music...
...peeked into the [closed] arboretum...
...and enjoyed the neat double-bench swings!
In addition to these spots pictured, there are many more playgrounds, a botanical garden, an amazing dog park, a gorgeous arbor room, a golf course, paddleboats, an amusement park, a cute little storybook-themed play land, miniature golf, probably a thousand awesome picture spots, and so much more! If you're ever in New Orleans, we highly recommend visiting this park at least once!
We left late-morning and found a restaurant in Baton Rouge with delicious alligator tail (the one food we had intended on having in NOLA but didn't) that we ate on the road. Our drive home was fairly uneventful, and we arrived home in time to get a good night's sleep! Overall, it was a great trip that I'd love to take again...maybe in the fall or spring next time, though! ü
