{NOLA Day 3}

I'm sorry I'm taking forever to post about our New Orleans trip. It was too much for one post, but I'm finding it difficult to find the time to do four posts. The struggle...

Since we were staying in a house with an actual working kitchen and all, we decided to make use of it by brewing our own coffee for breakfast on our last couple of mornings in New Orleans. Chris bought a pound of coffee from a local coffee shop, and we picked up filters and creamer at the store. We could've been super frugal and picked up breakfast items at the store, too...but we no longer have Krispy Kreme in the Houston area and couldn't pass up the opportunity to indulge in this yummy goodness! So we got enough for two days {& then some!}...

We had originally hoped to take a streetcar from a spot near the cute little house to the Riverfront, but that particular line has been replaced with buses. Buses just aren't as fascinating as streetcars, so we ended up driving and parking again. But we rode the ferry to Algiers, and ferries are more fun than buses! ü

As it turns out, there's not a whole lot to do in Algiers. It was just too hot to walk around Algiers for no reason, but fortunately it was lunch time! The Dry Dock Café was a cute little place where Elly & I split Gumbo and Red Beans & Rice, Cody ate a half-pound burger, and Christopher enjoyed a French Dip sandwich.

After our delicious lunch, we took the ferry back across the river, visited a few shops, then relaxed at the cute little house for awhile in the afternoon. This was, by far, our most chill day in New Orleans. We had done so much walking in the heat during our first couple of days, so we enjoyed spending some time doing nothing before venturing back out for dinner at Juan's Flying Burrito!

We explored the Mid-City neighborhood a little...

...and checked out the New Orleans City Park, where we planned on spending our last morning.

We had planned on getting beignets at Morning Call (inside the park) but were still too full on dinner, so we went back to the cute little house and watched American Ninja Warrior...

Then we went back to the park...

...and had late-night beignets...because we could!

What a great way to end day three in NOLA!

I am so glad you guys got to do this. What a great trip. I have never seen the ninja warrior show, but it's funny because you are I think the 5th person I have heard mention it recently. It must be pretty entertaining!
