"Summer Skin"

(by Death Cab for Cutie) Summer

As much as I hate melanoma, there's just something about a hint of that summer glow. I hate that I like it, but I just DO! I definitely don't want too much sun exposure. I mean, I'm not getting any younger, & I have the laugh lines to prove it! {don't "laugh lines" sound much better than "wrinkles"?!?!} Of course, there's also the whole cancer thing. But just a little bit of sun makes me feel like I look a little more alive! My mister seems to like it, too. Every summer, he makes at least one comment about how my summer skin reminds him of when we were dating ü

Now that school has started, I'll be saying goodbye to what little bit of tan I acquired this year. I guess it's all for the best...

So, what about you? Do you like the sun-kissed look? or do you live by the motto, "Pale is the new tan"?

i typically rock a farmers tan. not confident enough to just run in a sports bra so random tan it is!

There was a recent conversation about tanning and someone (I won't name any names) said Natalie doesn't get any sun because she has a new baby. Okay, I may not look super tan, but if you saw my stomach you would now that I do get SOME sun ;)

pre-children i always had some warm glow, which i thought was natural, but apparently it's not because i haven't had that in about 5 years. :P i assumed peter prefers me with some "color" but when i asked him he surprised me by saying he actually likes the creamier complexion. go figure!

My motto is tan fat is better than white fat! And yes, you were right, chopped liver was Hubs. Guess I should have told him to to have a great year.

Oh my goodness, I love the look of tanned skin! I used to lifeguard and teach swim lessons in the summer just so I could get paid to get an awesome swim suit tan. :) I am definitely more conscious about spf and sun protection and I don't go to tanning beds anymore since my sister had a skin cancer scare a while back, but I think a little sun looks healthy. :)
