"Bad Moon Rising"

(by Creedence Clearwater Revival)

"I see the bad moon arising.
I see trouble on the way.
I see earthquakes and lightnin.
I see bad times today.

Chorus:
Dont go around tonight,
Well, its bound to take your life,
Theres a bad moon on the rise.

I hear hurricanes ablowing.
I know the end is coming soon.
I fear rivers over flowing.
I hear the voice of rage and ruin.

Chorus
All right!

Hope you got your things together.
Hope you are quite prepared to die.
Looks like were in for nasty weather.
One eye is taken for an eye.

Chorus

From Our Hurricane Ike Adventure

In case anybody is actually reading this blog & has missed me, I've been a little preoccupied. In summary: I survived Hurricane Ike! My mister lined the hallway with all of our twin mattresses, and we rode out the storm there. We have some fence damage & a BUNCH of tree branches in the yard, but we are safe and only lost power for 1 1/2 days. I feel real bad for those who are still without power 4 1/2 days after Ike hit. My dad & brother are staying with us for that reason. The gas station lines are crazy, and so are the grocery store lines. I tried to get what I thought I needed last week, but I've still had to venture to the store twice. Yikes! The 1st time I went, they were only letting 10 people in at a time. Thank God, we were about 6 or 7 in line when we got there. We got milk for our family & my friend Jana's, who let us sleep in their air conditioned house the 1st night. Fortunately for our neighbors without power, a cool front came in, and it has been absolutely beautiful outside since Sunday. The kids won't go back to school until Monday (at the earliest), so we've kept ourselves busy cleaning up the yard, visiting residents at the nursing home & hanging out with friends.

Poor Pepper doesn't understand why she has to go in her own back yard with a leash on--but little escape artist that she is, it's a MUST! The Huskies in the neighbors' yard (that we now share) don't care one bit about her. They could eat her for lunch. But she thinks she's all that & barks at them like they're in her territory or something. Whatever! She has no idea that she's not even 10 pounds!

On a positive note, the hurricane has distracted me from some bad medical news that I received about my husband 2 weeks ago. I couldn't bring myself to blog about it earlier, and I still can't except to say that we'll know more tomorrow, after the doctor reveals the results of the MRI & PET scan. If anybody is reading this, please pray...
